Synopsis

Foxes Safari Camps, a portfolio of seven camps and lodges within Western and Southern Tanzania, showcases ‘Stanley’s Kopje’ within Tanzania’s fourth largest national park, Mikumi National Park. Stanley’s Kopje is the second Foxes camp inside Mikumi National Park, and one of only three camps/lodges within the national park itself. It is the only camp in Mikumi National Park positioned on a rocky kopje on the Mkata flood plain, overlooking the Mwanamboga waterhole. It features 12 meru-style tents positioned around the perimeter of the hill, with elevated, sweeping views across the wilderness The production shares the story of the great explorer Henry Morton Stanley and the kopje where he rested between his travels, which is believed to have been where the lodge is now located. Named after the explorer, the tented camp logo is in reference to the explorer who made his way across this wild area of Southern Tanzania.

Objectives

This short film aims to showcase Foxes Safari Camps’ self-sustaining model developed over four decades ago in some of Tanzania’s most remote regions. ‘Foxes’ Farms’ highlights the Foxes’ commitment to sustainability and conservation drives them to go beyond offsetting emissions. The short film highlights their beliefs that tourism is a force for good, benefitting the environment, local communities, and travellers alike. The company grows its own food on a family-run farm, constructs furniture and fittings using timber from its own reforestation projects, and produces uniforms and soft furnishings through local tailoring initiatives. All lodges are powered entirely by solar energy, and logistics are managed internally to ensure reliability and reduce environmental impact.
